Our Vision

Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
John 17:3

But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
1 Timothy 6:11-12

Vision - Who we are

Welcome to the University of Toronto Chinese Christian Fellowship (UTCCF). Our vision is Jesus Christ. Not the idea. Not the name. But the person, Jesus Christ. No, we are not Jesus. But our vision is Jesus because we aspire to be like Him. To be imitators of Jesus Christ. For "Christian" to be more than a social or religious label. But rather, going from label to identity.

We aspire to know God. To encounter God each day. To know God deeply. To discover the Almighty God, Holy God, yet Compassionate and full of Mercy. To have His love flowing in us. A love that we cannot contain, such that it becomes fire burning in our bones if we don't love as we are loved. To know the ravishing love of God. That God, in His infinite love, sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to Earth, to live a perfect life, and die for our sins on Calvary's cross. That we too, can die to our sins. To die to the things in our lives that are holding us back from a relationship with our God, our Creator, Father, and Lover. And not only that, Jesus, on the third day after He was crucified, rose from the dead, conquering sin's power over us. That we too may have life and life to the full.

The Cross is symbolic of something very important to us Christians; that is, the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is this Jesus that we aspire to. For herein lies our identity, and the answer to who we are, where we came from, why we're here, and where we're going.

Mission - What we do

Here are UTCCF, we invite you to join us in discovering Jesus.

  • Come. Find out what Christianity is all about and who this Jesus really is.
  • Come. Learn about God with us through the stories in the Bible and in people's lives.
  • Come. Live with us. Join our family. Our small groups. Sports and activities. Discover Jesus through life together.

And, if or when you decide that Jesus is your Lord -- if you're ready to say to God, "I'm in"
Then, Take Hold! Take Hold of the Good News. Take hold of the Cross. Take Hold of Jesus Christ.

Learn. Live. Take Hold!

What We Do

Through this website, you will peer in to different parts of this fellowship:

Small Groups: This is the core of our fellowship; where we come together to do study the Word and pray for one another during the week.

Large Group Gatherings: UTCCF meets as a whole every Friday during the school year to give praise to God. Be prepared to give, so that you may receive in abundance from your brothers and sisters.

Prayer: Come join us in corporate prayer or leave an online prayer request - we'll be sure they will be prayed for.

Groups Investigating God: These are small, informal group discussions geared towards those who have questions about Christianity. The gospel is discussed and presented in an open and engaging manner.

Testimonies: Read and witness how God is working in CCFers lives!

Who We Are

There are many other parts of CCF, but most importantly, it is the people in CCF who truly make this fellowship special. CCF is increasingly becoming one that is breaking down ethnic and cultural barriers. Fostered spiritually through Ambassadors for Christ, UTCCF, along with other CCFs around Canada are ever dynamic and vibrant communities seeking to find what it means to live in a campus environment.

Our History

So why does UTCCF exist? Founded by first generation Hong Kong immigrants, UTCCF began in 1963, where fellow brothers and sisters in Christ delved into the word of God together and interceded for one another in prayer in support for each other. In the 1980s and '90s, UTCCF evolved from a Cantonese speaking fellowship to a trilingual one, accommodating English and Mandarin speaking students. In the late 1990s, Trinity Cantonese Christian Fellowship was born to accommodate Cantonese speaking students. In 2004, Mandarin Chinese Christian Fellowship was started as well to better serve the Mandarin-speaking students on campus.

Currently, CCF is mainly an English speaking community, predominantly consisting of second generation Chinese Canadians and international students from Hong Kong and other parts of Asia.

Constitution

CCF is a recognised student group at the University of Toronto. We have a constitution, which can be read here.
